INJIGO is a Japanese luxury brand expanding their bespoke denim-wear to the rich clientele who has an appreciation for craftsmanship. A brand identity needs to be created, plus a campaign to bring awareness of the brand to the market.
The identity will revolve around the unique natural indigo dye that is used to colour the fabric and have accent colours that reference the Japanese culture. Ukiyo-e will be used as a reference to create the campaign instead of using well known celebrities, thus, standing out amongst their competitors and generating interest. A guerilla campaign will also be included to further gain interest.
The logomark is created using the Japanese text of Injigo to create a flower in a brushstroke manner, in reference to the natural indigo plant dye. A series of Ukiyo-e posters with a traditional figure wearing jeans are then created and placed in central business districts. Lastly, to reference the origin of Japanese denim city, Kojima, jeans are hung on laundry lines in luxury shopping buildings to generate interest.
